Launch

The Nintendo Switch will Launch on March 3rd 2017 at an MSRP of $299 and an unconfirmed price in Europe (sorry guys)

The console will ship with two versions A gray version and a red+blue version.

Nintendo Switch ( code name the NX) Is Nintendo’s  next Dedicated gaming console that it’s scheduled for world wide released March of 2017

As shown in the reveal trailer the Switch is a dedicated gaming console that’s both a home console and mobile device.  Games can be played with either the detachable Joy-Con controllers or the Switch Pro Controller. The console sits on a docking station connected to a TV, players only need to lift the switch from it’s dock to transform the console into it’s portable mode.  Once in portable players can attach the  Joy-Con controllers to either side of the Switch to play games  or detach them and use one or both of Joy-Cons for playing solo or with a friend.

Software

Unlike other current gen homes consoles the  Switch will  play cartridges similar to the Nintendo DS instead  of discs.  Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has already been announced earlier this year but the trailer shows Mario Kart, Splatoon, and what looks like a new Mario game.

We also got a glimpse at a nNBA game and Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. The NBA game may have been used to show off the system’s features and may not be actual games that will be released on the Switch. But because EA is supporting the console with FIFA, NBA 2K series may be coming to the console as well.

Information on the Nintendo Switch features

The Nintendo Switch has been announced to feature these key features:

• Region free software
• online multiplayer.
• Nintendo will be offering an online multiplayer service like Xbox Live or PSN
• Capacitive  touch sensors
• to allow the player to use the touch screen
• Infrared Technology to scan and interact with real world objects.
• Rumble HD in controllers add weight and haptic feed back to the controllers.
• Record and Share gameplay

Alongside that The switch will be able to play in different Gaming Modes

Gaming Modes

TV Mode

The switch is plugged into the dock and the display is being pushed to the television set. The player(s) can use the Joy-Con pad or Gamepad Pro to play games on the console.

 

Table-Top Mode

Uses the kickstand to allow you to play the game while the switch is facing you on a flat surface.

 

Portable Mode

allows the hold the switch in their hands and play while they are on the go.

Joy-Con controllers attached to the handheld-dock

The controllers attach to either side of the Joy-Con Grip accessory enabling you to play the Switch while it’s connected to the TV

The joy cons will launch with 3 color variants Neon Red, Neon Blue, and Gray

The Joy-Con can attach to either side of the Nintendo Switch enabling handheld mode.

The Switch has a kickstand that allows it to sit upright. Enabling play in table-top mode

One Joy-Con can be held in each hand to  play games while the screen is a distance away.

Each Joy-Con controller can be held sideways like a traditional controller and be used in multiplayer games.

Each Joy-Con will feature a 4 button pad, Analog stick, and bumper buttons where the controller connects to the switch.

Another feature of the Joy-Cons is the wrist straps.

These straps slide onto the controllers and lock in preventing controller loss during motion games.

Infrared Sensor

On the end of each right hand Joy-Con is an infrared sensor.

This IR sensor can detect hand shape as well as distance which developers can take advantage of.

Presumed similar to the Wii and Wii U home buttons.

This is where NFC can be read or written to and will be used to interface with Amiibo.

The left Joy-Con controller will feature a game play record button.
